On behalf of Helmsley Community Primary School, I am delighted to welcome you to our website.

Nestled in the stunning North Yorkshire Moors, Helmsley Community Primary School is a rapidly growing and dynamic member of the Areté Learning Trust. Whilst expansion and whole school progress continues, the school is proud and committed to serving and working in partnership alongside the local community of Helmsley and surrounding areas.

As part of the Areté Learning Trust, we believe we are ‘stronger together’ and have agreed to work in collaboration to ensure all our pupils receive the very best education.

If you haven’t yet submitted an application form for your child’s secondary school place for September 2026, please remember to do so by 31st October 2025.

Applications can be made online at: www.northyorks.gov.uk/admissions

Cauliflower Cards

Your child will have brought home a Christmas card template this week, so you can order personalised Christmas cards designed by your child.

The deadline for on-line orders and forms being returned to school is Monday 20th October.

Half Term Break

We would like to wish everyone a fun-filled half term break and we look forward to welcoming you back on Monday 3rd November, ready for a very busy run up to Christmas!

Clubs

There will be no clubs on Wednesday 5th November (Ukulele & Rugby) and Thursday 6thNovember (Multi-Sports) due to staff training and the Autumn Disco.

Remembrance Poppies

We will be selling Remembrance Poppies at break time from Monday 3rd November. The recommended donation from the British Legion is £1.00 and £3.00 for the metal Poppy badges.

Cross Country

Well done to all the children from KS2 who took part in the inter-school cross country competition at Ryedale this afternoon. Everyone did amazingly and we were proud to win the year 3/4 boys overall team competition and the year 5/6 boys overall team competition.

WELCOME BACK

We hope you had a lovely half term and are rested and ready for the run up to Christmas!

Following a correspondence from Yorkshire Housing, please can we remind parents to be considerate when parking on Elm Green and stick to the designated pathways rather than resident’s gardens. Thank you.

We will be completing challenges throughout the week as well as having our own class challenge on Friday 14th November 2025. We will be in our School uniform on Friday but we would like you to add one crazy item:
